Ethics: a set of moral principles : a theory or system of moral values

March is National Ethics Awareness Month. What better way is there to celebrate the strong values of UNLV and every Rebel than to showcase the excellent research being produced by UNLV faculty, staff, students, and journal authors.

Lied Library is turning 20! Help us celebrate by designing our 20th Anniversary logo.

Current UNLV students are invited to submit original logo designs that best capture the spirit of Lied Library.

Prize

The winner will receive a $500 cash prize and the logo may be used to promote the 20th anniversary of Lied Library in various media – including online, print, on merchandise, advertisements, educational materials, and other visual collateral.

Digital Collections, part of Special Collections and Archives in the University Libraries, has digitized 10 oral histories and made them available on our website this month. These stories, collected as part of several projects from the UNLV Oral History Research Center, provide a detailed look at the many people different people who call Las Vegas and Southern Nevada home.

Are you familiar with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Digital Library?

We offer UNLV students, faculty and staff this access to this database resource, which allows you to search citations and full text of ACM journal and conference proceedings.

Late in October, at the end of International Open Access Week, University Libraries faculty voted to approve an open access policy for their own scholarly articles.

UNLV students, faculty, and staff are invited to utilize the new drop-in consultation hours being offered by our Research, Innovation, and Creation staff.

For the Spring Semester, drop-in consultations will be offered in the Makerspace on the first floor of Lied Library on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to noon and Wednesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

This past year saw the establishment of several major endowments to support the work of UNLV students, faculty, and staff through the UNLV University Libraries. The largest gift, the $5 million Beverly Rogers Rare Book Curator Endowment, will establish the first named curator position in the University Libraries, while also enhancing the rare books collection in Special Collections and Archives.
