Lied Library will pilot a return to being open until midnight Mondays through Thursdays starting Tuesday, September 3 and running through the end of final exams in December.
“After several discussions with CSUN, who have requested a return to later service hours at Lied Library for students, we have developed this pilot to assess demand,” said Ingrid Ruffin, associate dean of Libraries. “We want to be responsive to student needs, but also responsible stewards of our staff resources to provide the best learning environment for our users.”
The pilot will also shift the start of Rebel Hours to 7 p.m., a time when only UNLV and NSHE-affiliated students, faculty, and staff can access the Libraries. The Libraries will also have full-day Rebel Hours during Final Exams Week.
“We believe that offering Rebel Hours during these final weeks of the fall semester will support a more focused academic environment for our community of scholars,” said Ruffin.
Users can enter Lied Library through the main entrance and must scan their Rebel Card or provide another form of NSHE ID to access the building.
