Remote Learning Resources Available At The Libraries

UNLV students needing assistance with remote learning have access to resources through University Libraries.

Laptops

Laptops are available for checkout for up to 8 hours at a time to use for remote classes or class projects.

Webcams and iPads

Webcams and iPads are also available for short-term checkout. This equipment is cleaned and disinfected after each use. Libraries laptops are equipped with the lockdown browser which may be required for class activities.

Computer workstations

Both Windows and Mac computer workstations have been reduced to provide for social distancing, but remain available for students to use. See computer availability on our website. Printing, copying, and scanning services are also available for students.

Laptop loaner program

The Libraries has also partnered with OIT for a long-term laptop loaner program, which enables students to check out a laptop for the entire semester. A limited number are available. Submitted requests online.

Headphones

UNLV-CSUN has also provided free headphones for students. Headphones can be picked up at the Circulation Desk at Lied Library or at any branch library while supplies last.

Wi-Fi

Lied Library and all branch libraries are also equipped with free Wi-Fi available for students. Instructions for accessing eduroam on laptops and mobile devices are available online.

Study rooms and study nooks

For students needing a quiet place to study or participate in a class, study rooms and study nooks are also available on a first-come, first-served basis. Occupancy is currently limited to 2 individuals per room. Spaces are cleaned throughout the day, but can also be cleaned by request at the Computer Help Desk.

Expanded course reserves

We have also partnered with CSUN to expand our Course Reserves collection of textbooks and course materials. Search for the availability of books for your courses.

Connect with a librarian

And if in doubt, connect with a librarian. The Ask Us! service allows students to get help via email, text, phone, or chat. You can also schedule a virtual research consultation with one of our librarians for more subject specific questions and research help.
