Happy New Year!
We hope you had a restful holiday break! The School of Medicine Library is looking forward to supporting your research and study needs in 2026. Below are some helpful information to get you off to a great start this new year:
🏫 Where are you located?
The School of Medicine is located at 625 Shadow Lane at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine’s Medical Education Building (MEB). Faculty, staff, students, residents, fellows, and post-docs affiliated with the school can access the library.
📄 I’m looking for journal articles, library databases, ebooks, where should I start?
Visit our website for your one-stop shop of library resources and services. We even have a Get Started icon on the homepage to help you navigate to the most common asked questions based on your user status.
💸 I heard that you provide funds for publishing open access, how do I learn more?
Did I mention that our website is a one-stop shop? I did? Okay, well visit our website and select the Open Article Fund icon. This will take you to our guide with eligibility criteria and how you may be eligible to get up to $2,000 covered for your APC.
🧑🏫 I want to connect with a librarian.
We love to hear that! The School of Medicine Library has liaison librarians for UME, GME, and the Department of Brain Health. We’ve also partnered with Lied Library for a liaison who supports the Couple and Family Therapy Program.
Visit the Find a Library Expert page to learn more on how to get connected.
🧩 Okay, but what else do you have??
Well, we also have a growing collection of puzzles and tinker toys. Need something to do on your break? Stop by the library and try putting together one of our puzzles. We currently have a “Where’s Waldo?” puzzle somewhere on the third floor 🤔.
🐶 We also have Pet Partners visit our space throughout the year, so be sure to hang out with a furry friend or two in our Third Floor Gallery. Our next visit will be on February 3rd, 2026 at 11:30 a.m.
Oh, and we love to print stickers, buttons and 3D print items (see the Make section).
We hope this gets you off to a good start this year, but if you have any questions, you can always connect with as by emailing medlib@unlv.edu
Looking forward to more connections and collaborations!
