Cherevichki: The Tsarina's Slippers

Cherevichki is a classic Russian Opera composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in the late 1800s. The story is based on the book "Christmas Eve" by Nikolai Gogol, written fifty years prior. It also contains revised components of Tchaikovsky's previously written operas. The plot takes place in the winter scenery on the night before Christmas in a Ukrainian village. This mature and emotional opera was originally preferment in Moscow, however, it has since been performed all over the world and connects with people from all cultures.
