First-Year Students: Your Research Project Could Win You $500

A student works on a project at a table in Lied Library.

Are you working on a research paper, project, or poster in one of your first-year classes? Curious about how to share your ideas beyond the classroom—or even win a $500 award for your work? This is your chance to get recognized for your creativity, curiosity, and academic growth.

Join us to learn about the Lance & Elena Calvert Rising Researcher Award, a new opportunity just for first-year students to showcase their research and creativity. In these sessions, we’ll break down what counts as research (it’s more than just writing papers!), how to apply, what makes a strong submission, and who is eligible.
