Virtual Conference on Children’s and Young Adults’ Holocaust Literature Nov. 18

Join the Teacher Development & Resources Library, Sperling Kronberg Mack Las Vegas Holocaust Resource Center, and the Gayle A. Zeiter Literacy Development Center on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. for this virtual conversation with a panel of noted authors of Holocaust literature for children and young adults. In a time when antisemitism and all forms of bigotry are on the rise, these authors address these issues through the lens of Holocaust literature. The conference will provide a one hour panel followed by smaller breakout sessions with each author to provide attendees with the opportunity to meet on a more personal level with the authors they choose.

Guest authors include Sonia Levitin is a German American novelist, artist, producer, Holocaust Survivor; Carol Matas, a renowned, internationally best-selling author of over 45 books for children and young adults; Jeff Gottesfeld, the author of the New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book of 2016, The Tree in the Courtyard, illustrated by Peter McCarty; and Amalia Hoffman, an author/illustrator whose board book, Dreidel Day, was selected as a PJ Library book and received the PJ Library Author Incentive Award.
