Summary: This five reel collection is a series of former security classified "top secret" correspondence maintained by Major General Leslie R. Groves when commanding the Manhattan Project from September 1942 thru December 1946. There are however some occasional related items as late as 1950. The correspondence which includes letters, reports, memorandums, messages, telegrams, telephone conversations, press releases, legislation, maps, charts, photographs, and miscellaneous printed materials are with high level U.S. Government or military officials. This collection documents the Army's role in the development, production, and deployment of atomic weapons.
