Summary: This journal is an important source of Russian documents. A large percentage of the items deal with the 20th century Russian Revolutionary movement, but one can find entries on the Tartars in the 14th century, Bering's expeditions, and Russian diplomacy during the Taiping Rebellion. Although the primary emphasis is on European diplomacy, it is also a good source of information on Russian-American relations. Some of the major figures represented in the documents are: Pushkin, Tolstoy, Chekhov, Turgenev, Balzac, Goethe, Rasputin, Nicholas II, and Protopopov. In Russian with some French.
