Summary: This seventeen reel collection contains a large number of secret service and police reports which provide an in-depth view of the attitudes and methods of those responsible for public law and order in England. It has an abundance of material relating to the offer of pardons and rewards in exchange for information leading to the arrest of criminals and troublemakers. There is also a file of Seditious Publications confiscated by local authorities. This material provides insight into the reaction of the governing elite toward urban and working class discontent and methods used to stamp out hints of sedition.
