Summary: Materials in this collection are drawn from the voluminous record groups at the Lyndon B. Johnson Library: the White House Central Files. This collection focuses on four major aspects of the War on Poverty as reflected in the files from the Office of Economic Opportunity, Model Cities, Food Stamps Program, and Income Maintenance (welfare reform). The Central Files were designed as a reference service for the President and his staff to document White House activities.
