Summary:

This 21 reel collection focuses primarily on the Ser. A case files that relate to the discriminatory practices in the workforce. Also addressed is NAACP's legislative and legal redress campaigns in behalf of equal employment opportunity as well as on the development of overall NAACP strategy on employment discrimination and on relations with organized labor. This series documents the movement of black workers into the urban-industrial centers: i.e. Alabama, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, and California. Materials on blacks in the organized labor movement, especially the newer, interracial Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) unions is featured. Series B compliments and provides fuller documentation on the relationships between the NAACP and trade unions. pt. 1.
