Food For Fines

Want to save a little money and support a good cause? The University Libraries has partnered with the UNLV Food Pantry to combat food insecurity and wipe out library fines through the Food For Fines program running through Dec. 17.

For each non-perishable, unexpired food item you donate, $1.00 will be reduced from your eligible library fines.

Library patrons eligible for this program include:

  • UNLV undergraduate and graduate students
  • UNLV faculty and staff
  • OLLI students
  • Public borrowers

Fees and fines for overdue books and DVDs, as well as interlibrary loan books and reserve items.

  • Lied Library
  • Architecture Studies Library
  • Music Library
  • School of Medicine Library
  • Teacher Development and Resources Library

The food items may be delivered to the Lied Library Circulation Desk where library staff will update your library account and then reduce the fine based on the number of food items donated.

All donated food items will be donated to the UNLV Food Pantry.

If you do not have library fines or fees, but would like to donate food, we will gladly accept all food donations and deliver them to the UNLV Food Pantry.
