Educational Outreach Librarian
Roles and responsibilities
As the Educational Outreach Librarian, I focus on engaging students through outreach initiatives
and co-curricular learning opportunities. I work closely with undergraduate students and student
organizations to support their academic and personal development outside the traditional
classroom. This includes organizing events, developing book displays, creating learning
experiences tied to campus programs, or facilitating themed sessions. My goal is to connect
students with the library as a space for community, exploration, creativity, and collaboration.
I also serve as the secondary supervisor for the Mason Undergraduate Peer Research Coaches
and work with undergraduate students in English 102 and first-year seminars, specifically SCI
101 and BUS 103. This includes teaching information literacy sessions and conducting research
consultations with students to help with their research projects.
Through this work, I aim to build meaningful relationships across campus and foster a sense of
belonging and inclusion in the Libraries.
