Libraries Winter Break Hours; Rebel Hours In Effect

The University Libraries will be open and providing services during Winter Break, running from Saturday, December 17 through Monday, January 16. 

Rebel Hours will be in effect during the break, with access limited to UNLV and NSHE-affiliated students, faculty, and staff. A RebelCard or NSHE-issued ID will be required for admission. Limited appointments will be available for the public

Lied Library

Lied Library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on Saturdays and Sundays. 

Lied will be closed on Monday, December 26 for the Christmas holiday and Monday, January 2 for the New Year’s holiday. On Monday, January 16, Lied will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. 

The Research Desk and online Ask Us! service will be unavailable from December 17 to Jan 2. From January 3 to January 13, the Research Desk will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and the Ask Us! service will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The Makerspace will be closed from December 17 to January 2. From January 3 to January 16, the Makerspace will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday, and closed Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. 

The Multimedia Production Studios will be open during Lied Library hours and can be reserved online.

Special Collections & Archives

From Dec. 19-29, Special Collections & Archives will be open from 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and closed Saturdays and Sundays. Special Collections & Archives will be closed on Monday, December 26 for the Christmas holiday, and Monday, January 2 for the New Year’s holiday. 

Starting January 3 to January 13, Special Collections & Archives will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and closed Saturdays, Sundays, and on Monday, January 16 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. 

Architecture Studies Library

The Architecture Studies Library will be closed from December 17 to January 2. Physical items can be reserved online through Quick Search and picked up at the Lied Library Circulation Desk. Online resources are available through the ASL website

From January 3 to January 15, the ASL will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed Saturdays and Sundays. The ASL will be closed January 16 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Teacher Development & Resources Library

The Teacher Development & Resources Library will be closed from December 16 to January 16 for renovations. Online resources are available through the TDRL website

Music Library

The Music Library will be closed December 17 - January 2. Online resources remain available through the Music Library website.

From January 3 to January 15, the library will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on weekends. The Music Library will also be closed on Thursday, January 5 and on Monday, January 16 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. 

School of Medicine Library

The School of Medicine Library will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will be closed Saturdays, Sundays, and on Monday, December 26 for the Christmas holiday, Monday, January 2 for the New Year’s holiday, and Monday, January 16, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV faculty and students have 24-7 access to the facilities and will remain available during the break. 

Patent & Trademark Resource Center Powered By Switch

The Patent & Trademark Resource Center Powered By Switch will be closed December 16-January 16. Consultation services are available by appointment by emailing Patrick Griffis or Youngwoo Ban


Regular semester hours resume Tuesday, January 17.
