Digital Scholarship@UNLV Highlights Open Access

The theme of this year's International Open Access Week, running Oct. 19-25, is “Open with Purpose: Taking Action to Build Structural Equity and Inclusion.” The UNLV community took action to publish works around COVID-19 openly in Digital Scholarship@UNLV, sharing community research and extending educational opportunities with the campus and world.

You can view research on COVID-19 from the School of Public Health and the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health. Journal articles are another source of pandemic related research. If public policy and economic recovery are concerns for you, discover the new publications from institutes and other departments on campus. Some other highlights include:

  • The Barrick Museum put out a call for artists to explore the pandemic and art through A Drawing a Day, which helped to reach out to the art community during this tumultuous time.
  • Viva Las Visionaries Podcast, produced by Women’s Research Institute of Nevada, brought an aspect of inclusion and positivity to podcast listeners.
  • Lastly, when you are feeling hungry for knowledge but don’t have a taste for research, fill up your head and belly with culinary techniques from the College of Hospitality through episodes of Cook Like a Rebel and Salud! Prost! Cheers!
