We are pleased to welcome this month’s Eadington Fellow Dr. John Eglin, Professor of History, University of Montana, Missoula. A member of the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, and North American Council on British Studies, Eglin’s work explores the relationship between culture and politics in British society from the late 1600s until the end of the 1700s.

Special Collections & Archives in the UNLV University Libraries is getting political with it’s latest donation - more than 35 years of Las Vegas Sun editorial cartoons from cartoonist Mike Smith.

We are pleased to welcome our first Eadington Fellow of 2021, Dr. Fred Woods who has served as a Professor of Religious Education at Brigham Young University since 1998. From 2005 to 2010, he held a Richard L. Evans Professorship of Religious Understanding and was appointed in 2019 to a BYU endowed Moral Education Professorship. He is also a Senior Associate of Pembroke College, University of Oxford.

The processing project team for the "Inventing Hollywood: Preserving and Providing Access to the Papers of Renegade Genius Howard Hughes" NEH grant has been hard at working surveying the collection, preparing inventories, and beginning conservation work. The team is a diverse group of students, part-time processing assistants, and a project archivist. Their educational backgrounds, personal interests, and work experiences come together to form a strong, dynamic team. UNLV Special Collections and Archives is excited to have such a strong team!
