Donations and Gift Materials Policy

The UNLV School of Medicine Library’s (SOML) collection comprises nearly 98% digital resources to support equitable access and dissemination of information across all campuses and clinical training sites throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Roughly 3% of the collection is made up of print materials to support curriculum needs and promote the medical humanities.

Due to limited storage and our goal to remain a digital-first library, SOML does not accept book donations for inclusion in the existing print collections. SOML works closely with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine’s faculty to obtain relevant curriculum materials and resources to support student learning.

The library assumes no responsibility for appraisal of gift items, nor can the library accept items under restricted conditions. The library also reserves the right to mark unattended book donations as lost/found and be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs.
