Collection Contents:
The Clinton Wright Photographs contain approximately 4000 black-and-white photographic negatives of various sizes, dating from 1964 to 1971. The images present the African-American experience in Las Vegas, Nevada during the 1960s and 1970s as seen through the lens of Clinton Wright when he was a photographer with the publication The Voice. The images in this collection depict various activities in the community and include politicians like Senator Joe Neal, Governor Grant Sawyer, and American President Lyndon Johnson, who visited Las Vegas in 1964.
