Las Vegas and Tonopah Railroad Blueprints

The Las Vegas and Tonopah Railroad Blueprints consists of twenty-four of the original thirty blueprints as part of the Interstate Commerce Commission (I.C.C.) Valuation Index Section I. They are labeled "Right-of-Way & Track Map, Las Vegas & Tonopah Railroad" and dated June 30, 1915. The blueprints contain four miles of railroad lines per sheet with a scale of 6 3/4 inches per mile. The collection also includes one sheet from the Bullfrog Goldfield Railroad company, which used the track, yard, and facilities of the Las Vegas and Tonopah and Railroad company between Beatty and Goldfield, Nevada.

The Las Vegas Monorail Records (1971-1980) consist of articles, newspaper clippings, agency reports, and correspondence concerning the 1970s effort to construct a Las Vegas, Nevada mass-transit monorail system. Materials document the project conception, development, and ultimate failure throughout the 1970s.

San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City Railroad

The collection is comprised of records of the San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad Company (1901-1976). The construction of this railroad led to the founding of Las Vegas, Nevada and the creation of the Empire Construction Company and Las Vegas Land and Water Company. The records document the company's operations and include correspondence and contracts relating to lots in the Las Vegas townsite, payments and accounts, invoices and other audit materials from 1905 to 1923. The collection also includes the records of the railroad agent at Arden Station, located ten miles south of the Las Vegas Station, which contain correspondence, ledgers, freight and way bills, shipping orders, and telegrams.
