The Teacher Development and Resources Library (TDRL) is piloting a Family Study Space in the Teacher Prep Lab space this fall.
“We recognize that UNLV students who are also parents can face challenges finding a place to study while also taking care of their children,” said Amanda Melilli, head of the Teacher Development and Resources Library. “With our current resources already supporting learning for children of all ages, adding this space to our library makes perfect sense.”
The Family Study Space features child-sized furniture and toys, providing a welcoming environment for families. Students can also explore the library’s extensive children’s and young adult literature collections, along with kits that include educational games and materials for children.
Located in the Carlson Education Building, Room 101, the TDRL supports teacher education programs in the College of Education, as well as P-12 educators in the Las Vegas Valley.
The Family Study Space is available to all students during regular library hours and will be offered as a pilot throughout the 2025-26 academic year. Students are encouraged to share feedback on the space using the Libraries feedback form.
