The UNLV University Libraries is working closely with the University and our campus partners to actively monitor the situation around COVID-19. As of Wednesday, March 17 at 5 p.m., Lied Library, Architecture Studies Library, Music Library, and Teacher Development and Resources Library are closed until further notice. The Health Sciences Library remains accessible to UNLV students, faculty, and staff on the Shadow Lane campus, with limited staffing. Many Libraries services remain available online, and Lied Library has begun offering a Curbside Pickup Service.

Remote Access to Libraries Services
- Reference services and consultations are available. Reach out to us online via email or chat at http://ask.library.unlv.edu/, or text us at (702) 945-0822. Librarians and library staff will be available:
- Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday: 1-5 p.m.
- Reference services and consultations will be unavailable July 3-4.
- Students and faculty can access a number of databases and online resources using your ACE account. Find more information here: https://www.library.unlv.edu/library-accounts.
- ILL will provide lending and borrowing services for electronically available resources. Delivery may be delayed and not delivered within the typical 24-hour period. All items currently checked out through ILL have been renewed, and are now due August 31, 2020.
- All campus libraries and most library book drops are closed. Users are encouraged not to return any items until the library re-opens. Most item due dates have been extended to July 17. Any fines incurred for items due on OR after March 16 and while the Libraries are closed will be waived. In most cases, the Libraries have extended due dates for currently checked-out items to July 17.
- Only one library book drop is open if you need to return books or DVDs -- this is the book drop outside the Harmon Street Entrance of Lied Library. Library staff will empty the book drop on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Items will be held for 72-hours before they will be checked-in; you will not be charged overdue fines. If the book drop is full, please do NOT leave books on the ground outside the book drop. We ask that you return them at another time when the book drop is not full.
- Online, phone, or emails consultations can be made with a librarian. Visit our appointments guide to submit a request.
- If you are a student unable to register for summer classes due to a MyUNLV hold applied to your account by the library, you can get the hold temporarily lifted by filling out a Fee Appeal Form from the library website. Holds will be lifted on individual accounts by request through Saturday, May 16, 2020. Please allow up to one business day for Fee Appeal Form to be acted upon. Fines and fees generated prior to the Libraries closure on March 16, 2020 will not be waived. Library patrons will be responsible for reconciling their account with the library once normal operations have resumed. - Special Collections & Archives has launched a project to document everything that is happening in the community right now. They are collecting websites, social media information, and photographs that document the tremendous changes that have happened in our community. Aaron Mayes has shared these images of the Strip and Fremont Street that provide a glimpse into how starkly different everything is now. This is important work that will inform researchers in the future as we look back at how the world responded to this health crisis. More details on the projects will be shared in the future.
Health Sciences Library
