Gaming Research Fellow Paulina Raento delivers a talk entitled "The Naming of Gaming in Nevada" on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 12:15 p.m., in the Special Collections' Reading Room on the third floor of Lied Library.
Raento, a professor in human geography at the University of Helsinki, Finland, and the Research Director for The Finnish Foundation for Gaming Research, takes an interdisciplinary look at the naming of Nevada's gambling establishments in the latter half of the 20th century.
The event is free and open to the public. Those interested in popular culture, Las Vegas history, and casino entertainment are encouraged to attend.
