The 4th Annual Gayle A. Zeiter Children's & Young Adult Literature conference is right around the corner. Join us in March for an inspirational day listening to renowned children and young adult authors and illustrators as they share their work and creative process. The annual Gayle A. Zeiter conference provides teachers, students and writers an opportunity to hear about how published writers and illustrators create their work, engage in conversation about how children's and young adult literature can be shared in diverse classrooms, and attend break out sessions that foster a love for literature!

Frank Serafini

Dr. Frank Serafini is an award winning children’s author and illustrator, a landscape photographer, a devoted guitar player, and an Associate Professor of Literacy Education and Children’s Literature at Arizona State University. Frank has recently been awarded the Arbuthnot Award from the International Reading Association as the 2014 Distinguished Professor of Children's Literature.

Peter Brown

Peter Brown is an author and illustrator of children’s books. His titles include New York Times bestsellers like The Curious Garden, Children Make Terrible Pets, and Mr. Tiger Goes Wild. Peter’s illustrations for Creepy Carrots!, written by Aaron Reynolds, earned him a 2013 Caldecott Honor.

Nikki Grimes

Nikki Grimes is the recipient of the 2006 NCTE Award for Excellence in Poetry for Children. Her distinguished works include ALA Notable book What is Goodbye?, Coretta Scott King Award winner Bronx Masquerade, and Coretta Scott King Author Honor books Jazmin's Notebook, Talkin' About Bessie, Dark Sons, The Road to Paris, and Words with Wings. Born and raised in New York City, Nikki began composing verse at the age of six and has been writing ever since that time.
