Abstract

The Maggie Mancuso Collection of Film Locations dates from 1994 to 2001 and consists primarily of color photographs of locations throughout Las Vegas, Nevada for the film Casino (1995) as well as other productions. Several photographs were taped together to form a panoramic image. The collection also includes some production materials from the filming of Casino, as well as other films and projects.

Scope and Contents Note

The Maggie Mancuso Collection of Film Locations dates from 1994 to 2001 and consists primarily of color photographs of locations throughout Las Vegas, Nevada for the film Casino (1995) as well as other productions. Several photographs were taped together to create a panoramic image. The collection also contains production materials from Casino, including a list of locations used and a script. It also includes production materials from the movie Mars Attacks! (1996) as well as other films and projects.

Biographical / Historical Note

Born in Greeley, Colorado, Margaret Ann Peterson rose to fame on the Andy Griffith Show playing the part of Charlene Darling. She later married jazz musician Gus Mancuso. After moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, she worked as a scout for films and other productions in the city and surrounding area.

Materials were donated in 2005 by Maggie Mancuso; accession number 2005-010.

Processing Note

Material was processed by Special Collections staff in 2005. In 2014, as part of a legacy finding aid conversion project, Ian M. Baldwin entered the data into ArchivesSpace. In 2018, as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Angela Moor rehoused and arranged the materials and revised the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards.
