Taylor, Patsy and Marshal OH-03542 2018 December 17 Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project Patsy Blair and Marshal Taylor met at Nevada Southern in a psychology class, fell in love, and moved way out of town to an apartment across from the college (became UNLV in 1965). Patsy grew up in Lovelock, NV and moved to Las Vegas for college while all of her classmates matriculated at UNR. Marshal and his family moved to Las Vegas in 1944. His father was a mortician. When they moved out of the building where the business was located, the family bought a house in Twin Lakes where he roamed as a young man. Early jobs for Marshal included the Von Tobel lumber yard, a 3-year stint in the army, and then a position in Radiation Safety at the Nevada Test Site for a year and a half. In 1976, he joined the City of North Las Vegas as a park planner and grant writer. He enjoyed that work for 30 years. Stories include the Wildcat Lair, Boulevard Mall, early movie theatres including the El Portal and the Huntridge, curfews for teenagers, the Biltmore neighborhood, and an early ambulance service. Parry and Peggy Thomas, Thomas Adam Thomas was born in Salt Lake City but brought to his family home in Las Vegas three days later. Like his siblings, Thomas attended local public schools: West Charleston Elementary, Hyde Park Junior High, and Clark High School. From the age of fifteen, he knew he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps, so after completing his mission, he earned a degree in business with an emphasis in banking and a law degree. In 1992 he and his brother Peter formed Thomas & Mack Co, LLC, for real estate development and management, and their first project was the McCarran Center, which they built on 120 acres of what formerly had been the Peg and George Crockett Ranch. They are currently developing the Las Vegas Digital Exchange Campus on 400 acres west of McCarran Airport near Clark County Route 215 as well as partnering with Alan Molasky on a luxury apartment complex in Summerlin. no 0
