Starkweather, Wendy OH-03759 2021-04-09 Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project Interviewed by Claytee D. White. Wendy Starkweather served as the public face of Lied Library 20 years ago when the building was brand new. She is still in awe of the architecture, the open design, and flexible use of space. Two of her favorite memories from the many, many tours she conducted were: the head librarian at Oxford who stated that this was the best library he had ever seen and the parents who immediately knew that this is the school that their child would attend when they stepped into Lied Library's atrium. Her comments about the impact of the building are memorable. Wendy retired in 2010 and has been been busy in the political arena, travelling, and reading.
