In 1983 a Pacific Coast Minor League franchise moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and became the Las Vegas Stars. The team was an affiliate of the San Diego Padres from 1983 to 2000. In 2001 the name was changed to the "Las Vegas 51s" and it was affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2001-2008). The team became an affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays (2009-2012), and later the New York Mets (2013- present). The collection consists of programs, baseball cards, posters, news clippings, and seasonal media guides from 1983 to 2010. The bulk of material is from 1983-2000 when the Las Vegas Stars franchise was affiliated with the San Diego Padres.
