Media Services & Computer Help Desk

About the Media Services Desk

Housed on the first floor of Lied Library, the Media Services circulates media in all subject areas and in a variety of formats in support of the university curriculum. This collection includes such items as videocassettes, DVDs, audiocassettes, and streaming videos for use in the library and classroom. 

About the Computer Help Desk

The Computer Help Desk is the group of library staff and student employees who assist customers with the computer hardware and software throughout Lied Library.

The first floor has 97 computers available and houses the Library Computer Help Desk (895-2101). This desk is located at the west end of the Research Assistance Desk and provides general guidance with various software packages, laptop authentication, and remote access support.

Several hundred additional workstations are available throughout all five floors of Lied Library. Public workstations are also available at all branch libraries. The computers are available during regular Lied Library hours. Staff assistance may not be available at all times.

The computer workstations and printers in the Lied Library are provided primarily for UNLV students, faculty, and staff. During peak times (such as the weeks before finals), public patrons may be asked to give up their computer for UNLV students.

Color laser printers are available on the first floor and second floor.   Black & white laser printers are available on all floors.
