  1. What type of laptops do you check out?
    Dell Latitude E5550. The laptops run Windows 7 and have MS Office 2013 installed. Each laptop comes with a mouse and power adaptor.
  2. What type of tablets do you check out?
    Apple iPad Air2, 16 GB, 9.5" Display, Bluetooth keyboard case.
  3. What do I need to check out a laptop or tablet?
    A completed Technology & Laptop User Agreement Form for the current academic year; a valid UNLV RebelCard; and less than $5.00 in fines on your library account.
  4. Who can check out a laptop or tablet?
    UNLV students, faculty, or staff. We do not check out laptops, tablets, or other high end electronic equipment to community users, non-UNLV students, or alumni.
  5. Where can I check out a laptop or tablet?
    At the Circulation Desk near the front entrance on the first floor of Lied Library.
  6. For how long may I check out the laptop or tablet?
    Standard check out periods are 4 hours. All tablets and laptops are to be returned 15 minutes prior to closing. Items checked out less than 4 hours, 15 minutes prior to closing will have shortened loan periods. 
  7. What is the overdue fine for laptops or tablets?
    Overdue fines are $10 per hour. Fines begin occuring the minute past the end of the loan period and continue accruing on the hour after that. Example: If the laptop or tablet is due at 3:23 PM and it is returned at 3:24 PM, a $10 overdue fine will be placed on your record. If the item is still not checked in at 4:00 PM, another $10 fine will be added to your account, and this will continue until the item is checked in.
  8. May I renew a laptop or tablet?
    No, but if other laptops or tablets are available for others to check out you may return the item and get it checked back out to you immediately.
  9. Where can I use laptops or tablets?
    Anywhere on campus where you can connect to WiFi
  10. What if the laptop or tablet is damaged or stolen while I have it checked out?
    Patrons are responsible for all library materials from the time they are checked out until the items are returned. Should an item be damaged the patron may have to pay a fee up to the complete replacement cost. Should items be lost or damaged beyond repair the patron may be responsible for the full replacement cost. Should an item be stolen, a police report listing the item as stolen property must be presented to circulation staff to be forgiven for the replacement cost of the item.
