Remembering 1 October: A Night of Healing and Community

Join the UNLV University Libraries Special Collections and Archives for "Remembering 1 October: A Night of Healing and Community" on Friday, Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in the Goldfield Room at Lied Library. The free community event is in observation of the first anniversary of 1 October.

Panelists selected from Special Collections and Archives' Remembering 1 October Project will discuss their experiences from that night, and share stories of how the Las Vegas community came together to grieve, heal, and move forward.

Panelists for the event include David Becker, Freelance Photographer; John Fudenberg, Clark County Coroner; Dr. Deborah A. Kuhls, UNLV Professor of Surgery and Medical Director of the Trauma ICU at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada; Jay Pleggenkuhle, Las Vegas Community Healing Garden; and Aracely Rascon, Simpson Coulter Architecture Firm & the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center. The discussion will be moderated by Claytee White, Director of the University Libraries' Oral History Research Center.
