The University Libraries will be hosting ORCID ID Day on Wednesday, April 18 to offer faculty, staff, and graduate students an opportunity to learn more about ORCID and get help signing up for an ORCID ID.

The schedule for the day includes:

  • 10-11 a.m.: ORCID information and sign up table outside the Graduate Commons, Lied Library
  • Noon-1 p.m.: ORCID information and sign up table in the Science and Engineering Building lobby
  • 2-3 p.m.: ORCID Certification workshop, Pioche Room, Lied Library

ORCID is the Open Researcher and Contributor ID registry, a free service that provides a persistent and unique number to help distinguish your research, and ensure your research outputs and activities are correctly attributed to you.

Signing up for an ORCID ID helps improve recognition and discoverability for your research. It works with many publishers, funders, and institutions, and can connect with other systems so you don’t need to re-input your data.

For more information about ORCID, contact Visiting Library Fellows Matthew Murray or A.L. Carson or visit the ORCID Guide
