Winter Break Hours and Services

The University Libraries will observe a modified schedule for the winter break and intersession hours. Beginning on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 and running until Martin Luther King Day on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, University Libraries will modify hours including closing on some weekend days and state holidays.

Essential library services will be available for faculty, staff, students, and the general public including general reference and research assistance, computer assistance, and circulation services. Collections located within Lied will be accessible during this period.

All University Libraries will be closed on Dec. 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31 and Jan. 1, 2018.

From Monday, Dec. 18, to Friday, Dec. 22, and from Tuesday, Dec. 26, to Friday, Dec. 29, Lied Library will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Special Collections & Archives will be open 1 to 5 p.m. on those dates.

All three branch libraries – Architecture Studies Library, Music Library, and Teacher Development and Resources Library – will be closed from Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 through Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. During this time, Library users may request items from circulating collections in branch libraries at the Circulation Desk in Lied Library; staff will page items only from the general circulating collections of branch libraries.

From Tuesday, Jan. 2 to Friday, January 5, Lied Library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. From Saturday, Jan. 6 through Sunday, January 14, Lied Library will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. For Jan. 2 – Jan. 14, Special Collections & Archives, the Architecture Studies Library, and the Teacher Development and Resources Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and closed weekends and holidays;  the Music Library will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and closed weekends and holidays;  and the Health Sciences Libraries at Shadow Lane and West Charleston will be open 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, and closed weekends and holidays.

On Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, only Lied Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 pm.

On Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 all libraries will return to their normal schedule for the 2018 Spring Semester.
