A new exhibit celebrating the 60th anniversary of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is now open in Special Collections and Archives in Lied Library at UNLV.
“UNLV @ 60: From Tumbleweed Tech to Top Tier,” curated by Tammi Kim, Special Collections Technical Services Librarian, shows the development of the physical UNLV campus and highlights student activities and engagement, as well as popular athletics programs.
Featuring items, documents, and photographs from the campus archives, the exhibit showcases how UNLV has been an integral part of the Las Vegas community for the past 60 years. From its beginnings in one building to its expansion into a 332-acre campus with more than 30,000 students in the heart of Las Vegas, UNLV has grown right alongside Las Vegas. This exhibit features items from UNLV’s history that showcase the evolution of the university from its origins as a southern branch of the University of Nevada.
The exhibit will be on display in Special Collections and Archives in Lied Library through December.
