The University Libraries will observe a modified schedule for the winter break and intersession hours. Beginning on Sunday, Dec. 18 and running until Martin Luther King Day on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, University Libraries will modify hours including closing on some weekend days and state holidays.
Essential library services will be available for faculty, staff, students, and the general public including general reference and research assistance, computer assistance, and circulation services. Collections located within Lied will be accessible during this period. UNLV faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to check out any circulating materials they will need during the semester break prior to Friday, Dec. 16.
All University Libraries will be closed on Dec. 18, 24, 25, 26, and 31, and Jan. 1 and 2, 2017.
From Monday, Dec. 19, to Friday, Dec. 23, and from Tuesday, Dec. 27, to Friday, Dec. 30, Lied Library will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Special Collections will be open 1 to 5 p.m. on those dates.
All three branch libraries – Architecture Studies Library, Music Library, and Teacher Development and Resources Library – will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 17 to Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. Branch libraries will also be closed on weekends and holidays – Jan. 7, 8, 14, 15, and 16. Items requested by patrons from circulating collections in branch libraries will be paged by staff at Lied as needed. Items from branch libraries may be requested in advance of visiting the library by using the “request this item” feature in the library catalog. Items will be paged from the branch library and held at the Circulation Desk in Lied Library for patrons. Library patrons may also request the item in person at the Circulation Desk in Lied Library; staff will page items only from the general circulating collections of branch libraries.
From Tuesday, Jan. 3 to Monday, Jan. 16, Lied Library will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. For these dates, Special Collections, the Architecture Studies Library, and the Teacher Development and Resources Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and will be closed weekends and holidays while the Music Library will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and closed weekends and holidays.
On Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 16, only Lied Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 pm.
On Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 all libraries will return to their normal schedule for the 2017 Spring Semester.
