The Lied Library will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during Winter Break from Monday, December 21 to Thursday, December 24 AND from Monday, December 28 to Thursday, December 31.
Essential library services will be available for faculty, staff, students, and the general public including general reference and research assistance, computer assistance, and circulation services. Collections located within Lied will be accessible during the semester break.
Special Collections in Lied Library will be open on those dates from 1 to 5 p.m., and reference and research assistance will be available.
All three branch libraries – Curriculum Materials Library, Music Library, and Architecture Studies Library will be closed from Saturday, December 19, through Sunday, January 3. Materials from branch libraries will be available via paging upon request.
- UNLV faculty, staff and students are encouraged to check out any circulating materials they will need during the semester break prior to Friday, December 18.
- Beginning on Monday, December 21, items from branch libraries may be requested in advance of visiting the library by using the “request this item” feature in the library catalog. Items will be paged from the branch library and held at the Circulation Desk in Lied Library for patrons.
- Library patrons may also request the item in person at the Circulation Desk in Lied Library; staff will page items only from the general circulating collections of branch libraries. Turnaround time for items paged from branch libraries will be on as needed basis daily.
The Curriculum Materials Library branch located in the College of Education will be closed for a more extended period from Monday, December 14, through Monday, January 18, for renovation project. This space enhancement project will include asbestos-abatement which will limit ability of staff to access collections during this period; as a result, access to the library and paging of materials will not be available from the CML.
In observance of state holidays, UNLV will be closed December 25 and January 1. All libraries will be closed on both these observed holidays and on the subsequent weekends (December 26 and 27 and January 2 and 3). UNLV will reopen for regular business on Monday, January 4, 2016.
