This workshop will help you create a personal library of information that will allow you to organize, annotate, and cite those items in your own witing more efficiently. Participants will be able to enter and edit citation data for a variety of information resources, produce draft citation entries for their collected information resources, and use the cite-o-matic tool to create easy-to-update citations in a variety of styles.     Join the University Libraries for "Graphic Novels at UNLV: An Exploration of Their Relevancy and Your Freedom to Read". Graphic novels are among the most challenged books in schools and libraries. Defend your freedom to read by joining us for a Banned Books Week conversation about the use and value of graphic novels at UNLV. This free event will include a discussion with Jarret Keene, Faculty Advisor and Consulting Editor for the Department of English; Jean Munson, Program Manager for the Women's Research Instititute of Nevada; Katherine Keller, Library Technician II in the Teacher Development and Resources Library and a board member of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund; and Amanda Melilli, Head of the Teacher Development and Resources Library. A book tasting of graphic novels available through the University Libraries will take place following the discussion.     Learn how to use RefWorks to keep track of the many sources you find. This workshop will help you create a personal library of references that you can use to organize, annotate, and cite these sources more efficiently. Participants will be able to create a RefWorks account, import citations from a range of search tools, use folders to organize sources, and create bibliographies in a range of citation styles.
