After 12 years at UNLV, I will be retiring as the Dean of University Libraries this fall. Under the leadership and vision of President Len Jessup and Provost Diane Chase, I know the next dean will continue to advance our mission to be a next-generation research library for Southern Nevada.
The past 12 years at UNLV have been a tremendous experience, and this amazing community will remain my home. During this time, the University Libraries has accomplished so much with the help of our alumni and friends.
From expansion of the Special Collections and Archives division to physical enhancements that have placed the libraries at the center of student learning to programs like the Calvert Undergraduate Research Awards, the Flora and Stuart Mason Undergraduate Peer Research Coaches, library fellowship programs, and faculty institutes, I have seen how the University Libraries directly impact UNLV, Las Vegas, and Southern Nevada. You can read more about all of our accomplishments in the official announcement of my retirement.
None of the many things we have accomplished during my tenure would have been possible without your belief in how the University Libraries support this community. I love this community and plan to stay connected to this university that I have adopted. I look forward to finding new ways and new opportunities to serve UNLV and the great city of Las Vegas, and will continue sharing my passion for the great work happening at the University Libraries.
