CFP - Concordia University Libraries' Research Forum

Proposals are now being accepted for Concordia University Libraries' 13th Annual Research Forum, in the beautiful city of Montreal.  This year's Research Forum will be held on Friday, April 10th, 2015, at the Loyola Jesuit Hall and Conference Centre.

The Research Forum provides an opportunity for librarians, archivists, graduate students, teaching faculty, and information professionals to describe and promote their completed or in-progress research, practical case studies or projects. The Forum also provides a venue for researchers to seek suggestions for enhancing their research interests, to identify potential new partners for projects, to test the effectiveness of their undertakings, and to promote research in academic libraries.

This year’s keynote speaker is Andrew Piper, Associate Professor of German and European Literature, associate member of the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University, and author of Book Was There: Reading in Electronic Times.

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

The Research and Statistics Committee of the Reference Services Section of RUSA invites the submission of research projects for presentation at the 21st Reference Research Forum at the 2015 American Library Association Annual Conference in San Francisco, CA.

The Reference Research Forum continues to be one of the most popular and valuable programs during the ALA Annual Conference, where attendees can learn about notable research projects conducted in the broad area of reference services such as user behavior, electronic services, reference effectiveness and assessment, and organizational structure and personnel. All researchers, including reference practitioners from all types of libraries, library school faculty and students, and other interested individuals, are encouraged to submit a proposal.

2014 Library Research Round Table Forums at

ALA Annual Conference,

Las Vegas, NV

The Library Research Round Table (LRRT) will sponsor two Research Forums at the 2014 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Las Vegas, NV (June 26-July 1, 2014). The LRRT Forums are a set of programs at the ALA Annual Conference featuring presentations of LIS research, in progress or completed, followed by discussion. One of the forums is broad in scope and one is on a more specific topic. The forums are:

The Research Forum provides an opportunity for librarians, archivists, graduate students, teaching faculty, and information professionals to describe and promote their completed or in-progress research, practical case studies or projects.  The Forum also provides a venue for researchers to seek suggestions for enhancing their research interests, to identify potential new partners for projects, to test the effectiveness of their undertakings, and to promote research in academic libraries.

The keynote speaker is Selinda Berg, Program Chair for the 2012 and 2013 CARL Librarians’ Research Institute and Clinical Medicine Librarian, University of Windsor.

EBSS RESEARCH FORUM – Call for Proposals

The Education and Behavioral Sciences Section Research Committee is holding its 8th Annual Research Poster Forum during the ALA Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The Research Forum and reception follows the announcement and speech of the 2014 award winner for APA Excellence in Librarianship, and will take place on the afternoon of Saturday June 28, 2014.

The Forum seeks to provide beginning and established researchers an opportunity to present research in progress, receive collaborative feedback on their work and recommendations for future publishing.  Research / Posters will be simultaneously presented and discussed in small informal groups.   Attendees at the forum will find an arena for discussion and networking with their colleagues interested in research related issues and trends in the profession.  The committee will use a blind review process. 

Proposals are due February 14, 2014.
