Beginning June 30, the University Libraries will consolidate interlibrary loan services; these are services that enable library users to request and borrow materials from libraries outside UNLV. Users will now manage interlibrary loan services using their ILLiad account.
As a result, the University Libraries will discontinue access to the LINK+ option. Users can still request items through LINK+ up until this date, and those with materials borrowed through LINK+ will have until their assigned return date to return items. All materials that were available through LINK+ will be available via alternative services, including BorrowItNow or by directly placing a request through their ILLiad account. This change will have minimal negative impact on library users when obtaining needed materials.
The streamlining of interlibrary loan services is part of the University Libraries’ commitment to providing robust borrowing services with a single authentication. Interlibrary loan services are independent of the ability of UNLV faculty, staff, and students to request delivery of materials from Southern Nevada NSHE schools (CSN, NSC, DRI) directly through the library catalog or at a service desk. Further updates to ILL service options may occur over the following months as improvements to the library core systems continues. We will always communicate these changes in a timely manner.
