Rosan Mitola, outreach librarian, has been named McPhee Librarian of the Year for her many accomplishments, including her dedication to supporting student engagement and extending the reach of many Library programs. This annual award is given on a competitive basis to a University Libraries faculty member based on overall outstanding performance, including major contributions to the library, the university, the community, or the profession.
Melissa Bowles-Terry, head of educational initiatives, is the winner of the Outstanding Library Faculty Scholarship Award. Melissa’s scholarship record for 2015 included an impressive five presentations and three publications, including co-authoring a book called Classroom Assessment Techniques for Librarians.
John Watts, teaching and learning librarian, is the winner of the Outstanding Library Faculty Service Award. John is recognized for his commitment to meaningful service on the national level including involvement on the LOEX (Library Orientation Exchange) Advisory Council, ACRL (Association of College & Research Libraries) Assessment in Action program, and the ACRL Intersections of Scholarly Communication and Information Literacy program.
