Between the Lines, News from YOUR Research Library: Discover

Welcome to Between the Lines, an e-newsletter created for UNLV faculty, staff, administrators, and graduate students.

In the fall, we asked you to complete the Ithaka S+R Faculty & Graduate Student Survey. We are analyzing the data and dashboards will be forthcoming to explore the results. Until then, we are pleased to share executive summaries and the full reports.

In this issue, themed DISCOVER, we highlight a collection of Mesoamerican codices available for researchers to unfold and examine from pre-colonial and early colonial periods. We also announce an upcoming faculty institute on designing and developing Milestone Experiences that include elements of inquiry and exploration.

To stay connected to our efforts to collect and preserve rare and unique materials about our region’s heritage, follow the UNLV Libraries’ Special Collections on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We also invite you to discover how we are archiving the web, starting with UNLV websites.

Finally, the Libraries are pleased to welcome Pat Hawthorne, associate dean for the Research and Education Division, to UNLV.

With the semester well under way, we are continuing our efforts to fulfill our mission to define the new academic research library—bringing people and information together in innovative ways.

Warm regards,

Patricia Iannuzzi
Dean of Libraries
