UNLV Libraries Faculty Scholarship Accomplishments

Su Kim Chung, head of Public Services in Special Collections, received her Ph.D. in Information Studies from UCLA in March. She will receive her doctoral hood in June at the UCLA graduation. Chung’s dissertation, “’We Seek to Be Patient:’ Jeanne Wier and the Nevada Historical Society, 1904-1950” explores how Wier shaped a public historical culture in the state of Nevada.

Xan Goodman, Samantha Godbey, and Sue Wainscott presented a workshop at the Association of College & Research Libraries 2015 Conference titled “Crossing the Threshold with Threshold Concepts: Redesigning a Library Instruction Lesson Plan.”

Rosan Mitola and Amanda Melilli presented a pre-conference workshop at the Association of College & Research Libraries 2015 Conference titled “If You Build It, They Will Come… and Succeed: Developing a Co-Curricular Workshop Series to Add Value to the Student Employee Experience.”

Erin Rinto contributed to a panel discussion at the Association of College & Research Libraries 2015 Conference titled “Integrating Information Literacy into the Core Curriculum: Creating Sustainable Models.”
