You asked for it, you got it. After a year of planning and implementation, Lied Library has completed its wireless upgrade to keep pace with the proliferation of smart phones and tablets and multiple devices used by the thousands of students in the building each day. As noted in user surveys, the seven year old infrastructure was in need of more robust coverage in more places.
The wi-fi system is faster, more reliable, has broader bandwidth, conforms to the latest standards, and offers more coverage in all parts of the building. The upgraded network should keep pace with the increased number of library services and collections designed for cross platform use (e.g., databases optimized for mobile devices).
