Welcome to the second spring issue of Between the Lines, an e-newsletter created specifically with UNLV faculty, staff, and graduate students in mind. As the semester comes to an end, we invite you to learn about some of the projects that have been our focus throughout the spring.
In this issue, themed LEARN, we showcase a new space dedicated for in-depth research consultations where our subject liaison librarians can meet with students and faculty.
We would like to learn about your readership of this e-newsletter through a brief survey. Your feedback will inform upcoming issues, which are published twice a semester.
Learn about specific datasets and statistical resources for your subject area and a selection of interdisciplinary education data resources in a new library guide.
We also debut the online digital archive of UNLV’s student newspaper, The Rebel Yell. Guest columnist David Schwartz, director of the UNLV Libraries’ Center for Gaming Research, highlights five days that changed the gaming world. We announce our role and participation in the convergence of 20,000 librarians in Las Vegas for the American Library Association Annual Conference in June, and we announce the recipient of the McPhee Librarian of the Year Award.
As the UNLV Libraries Subscription Cancellation Project progresses, I want to thank you for your participation in the difficult process of reviewing the list of potential cancellations and providing feedback. We will be reviewing your feedback and creating a final list of cancellations in early May. For more information about this project, including our timeline, visit the project page.
Between the Lines will return in the fall to share with you our latest efforts and initiatives that fulfill our mission to define the new academic research library—bringing people and information together in innovative ways.
