Welcome to the Western Round-Up
The Western Round-Up Program Committee is pleased to have you join us for an exciting array of speakers, workshops and presentations at the super regional meeting. We appreciate the enthusiastic response we received to our call for session and workshop proposals, which made the work of assembling this year's program a very pleasurable experience, save for the reality of not having enough time available to accommodate all of your worthy submissions.
We are honored that Nobel Prize-winning author Wole Soyinka has agreed to deliver our plenary address, and that SAA President Rand Jimerson will introduce him. Our Friday luncheon speaker is environmental historian and noted Las Vegas expert, Dr. Hal Rothman. We have three pre-conference workshops, and fifteen varied panel sessions that will report on a variety of important topics including processing, EAD projects, digitization, grant funding, and the state of archival education in the West. I'm sure you'll come away from our Round-Up inspired and energized!
