The collection contains a digital copy of a CNT scrapbook from 1974 to 1978. The collection includes annual reports that highlight the synagogue's annual finances and major activities throughout the year and CNT's community newsletters.

Most of the materials document the efforts by the citizens group to raise money in the community to build and sustain a new public library in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Eddie Hawk Jim Family Papers (1891-2011) contain newspaper clippings, photographs, school, cemetery, and census records pertaining to the Jim family, a Paiute family from the Pahrump, Nevada region. The newspaper articles document the general public's perspective of events involving the Paiute people living in the Pahrump Valley region. The photographs depict Mary Scott, Alice Jim, Long Jim, and other relatives of the Jim family during the 1940s and 1950s. Additional photographs include a larger group of tribal members gathered in 2011 at Mt. Charleston, Nevada. These papers have been gathered by the Jim family as the foundation of a Pahrump Paiute Tribal Archive that other members may build upon. This collection consists entirely of digital surrogates.

Collection is closed to the public per donor agreement and requires permission to be accessed. University of Nevada, Las Vegas students and faculty may access the collection onsite without restrictions. Please contact Special Collections and Archives for additional information.

The correspondence primarily relates to James and Ima Fallman and chronicles Ima's involvement with the Francisco Garces chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), James's work as a bartender in Las Vegas, Nevada, and awards he received during World War II. The newspaper clippings mention either James Fallman or his daughter, Janice, and her involvement with the Las Vegas High School Rhythmettes dance team. The majority of materials from Janice describe her school days at Las Vegas High School and events participated in as a child and young adult.

The collection materials include photographs of Forbuss throughout his life, including his early childhood, as well as some photographs of his mother, Marjorie Forbuss, during the 1940s and 1950s. The collection documents Forbuss's early childhood through adulthood and includes materials such as personal correspondence and Forbuss's baby book. There are also papers documenting Forbuss's professional life including his involvement with local politics and businesses. The collection includes records for J&B Strategic Alliances, LLC., a consulting company that he co-founded with former Las Vegas mayor, Jan Jones.

Forever in Our Hearts Documentary

The film is comprised of photographs taken by Tanya Olson, a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Olson created the film as a way to memorialize the 1 October shooting.

The Fraley Family Collection of Las Vegas, Nevada Films and Photographs (1956-1995) include 8mm photographic films of the Helldorado Parade and Hoover (Boulder) Dam in 1956, color photographic prints of the construction of the Fremont Street Experience in 1995, and one color photographic print of the Tower Casino at the State Line in 1976. The 8mm film footage was taken during a family vacation and also includes exterior shots of casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Merle Frehner Map of St. Thomas, Nevada (1981) consists of a hand-drawn map by Frehner of St. Thomas, Nevada who lived there from 1914 to 1932. The town was abandoned in 1933 due to the construction of Hoover Dam and is now beneath the waters of Lake Mead. Also included are instructions to the Geography 135 class at University of Nevada, Las Vegas to reproduce the map, which became a student project.

The William Fulton Papers (1993-1996) contains Fulton's research files used in writing his book, The reluctant metropolis: the politics of urban growth in Los Angeles. The materials primarily consist of newspaper clippings that cover stories on the growth of Los Angeles residents moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, water, economic development, and the master planned community of Summerlin. The majority of newspaper clippings are from the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Las Vegas Sun. The materials also include reports on economic and housing development in Southern Nevada as well as drafts of the book's Chapter 12, "Cloning Los Angeles" which discusses the growth of Las Vegas throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

The Sadie and Hampton George Papers (1874-1944) consist primarily of the incoming and outgoing correspondence of Sadie Kiel George and her husband, Hampton George, regarding proposed land and mineral rights sales. The collection also includes some personal correspondence, and two of the most significant letters in the collection deal with the deaths of brothers William and Edward Kiel, Sadie's uncles, who were found dead at the Kiel Ranch in October 1900. Also included in the collection are receipts, cancelled checks, tax notices, mining claims, and land deeds.

The Tom Hawley Papers (approximately 1955-2019) contain the personal papers of Las Vegas, Nevada based traffic and transportation reporter, Tom Hawley. The collection primarily includes physical and digital materials that represent Hawley's interests in Las Vegas history; transportation issues in the Las Vegas Valley, including the Las Vegas Monorail and Resort Corridor Project; and his work as a traffic and transportation reporter for KSNV Channel 3. Materials from KSNV include video clips and transcripts of Video Vault, a segment on the history of Las Vegas hosted by Hawley. Other materials in this collection include ephemera, postcards, newspaper clippings, and memorabilia on Las Vegas entertainment and gaming. The collection also includes papers and memorabilia representing Hawley's activities as a string bass player for the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and files kept by his parents on Marta Becket and the Amargosa Opera House in Death Valley Junction, California.

The Tom Hribar Collection of Nevada Southern University Memorabilia (1965-1967) is comprised of newspaper clippings, programs, and publications primarily created by the Confederated Students of Nevada Southern (CSNS) that were collected by Tom Hribar, the former student body president of Nevada Southern University (NSU). Publications include student handbooks and directories. Also included are copies of publications such as Beau's Bit's, the student handbook; Polis; published by the Students for Political Action; and Matrix, an arts and literature magazine. The collection also includes materials such as correspondence and newspaper clippings related to an event where Hribar stole the Fremont Cannon trophy from the University of Nevada, Reno's campus as part of a practical joke in 1966.
