Creating Links to Journal Articles on WebCampus

Creating Persistent Links

  • To create links to library resources (such as a full-text article from a library database) in WebCampus or on a personal web page it is important to use persistent links. Most of the time you cannot just copy and past the link directly from your browser, because it will stop working. A persistent link must be created, to ensure you can get back to the resource.
  • Legal agreements require that only people affiliated with UNLV can access library databases. A proxy server verifies UNLV affiliation and allows access to resources from off campus. You will need to add this proxy prefix to the beginning of your persistent URL to ensure off-campus access. The proxy prefix is: http://ezproxy.library.unlv.edu/login?url=
