Spaces

The UNLV Libraries currently operates one library space at the Kirk Kerkorian Medical Education Building. It is important to review and understand the following policies if you wish to use the library spaces:

Study

The School of Medicine Library offers quiet individual and group study rooms on the 4th floor of the library. They are available on a first come, first serve basis. In addition, we provide a 16-person seat computer lab with 8 computer stations and 8 open spaces for laptops and other mobile devices. Our study spaces are available 24/7 for Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine faculty, staff, medical students, residents and fellows.

Present

The School of Medicine Library’s social gathering space can be found on the 3rd floor, known as the Third Floor Gallery. Take a break from your busy work or study schedule in a large soft-seating area overlooking the Las Vegas Medical District and portions of the Las Vegas Strip. Here we hold library programs and events throughout the year supporting the knowledge and wellbeing of the medical school community. Stop by when you can, you might have a chance to pet a furry visitor during our pet therapy sessions.

Make

The School of Medicine Library Makerspace is located on the 4th floor. The Makerspace serves as an innovation space for Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine faculty, staff, medical students, residents and fellows. The space offers 3 computer stations, 3D printing technology, and a whisper booth with podcasting equipment. Open hours are made available at the discretion of library staff and access is by appointment only. Interested in using the space? Stop by the library front desk to inquire.

The Makerspace is also the library’s only classroom for library faculty and is prioritized to support workshop activities benefiting the UNLV community and pipeline activities in coordination with the medical school.

Building Access and Parking

Access is restricted to the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine students, faculty and staff with access cards. Parking is available to those with current UNLV parking passes.
