The Eureka Room

Eureka was famous as the "Pittsburgh of the West" because of the black smoke squeezing out of smelter smokestacks to smear the sky and poison the hardy desert vegetation (and the residents).

Tech Specs

Houses the Libraries' Internet 2 access Grid Node. This node makes use of the three digital projectors, four video cameras and eight ceiling-mounted microphones with echo-cancelling electronics, all controlled by a single computer running software supplied by inSORS.

The Internet 2 Access Grid is designed to allow UNLV faculty, staff, and students to videoconference with colleagues and researchers around the word using Internet technologies.
